Thank you to my incredible wife Jennifer, who has changed my life and been with me throughout this entire process. I love you sweetheart, and I thank God for you. And as Jenny and I pray together each morning, all glory—regardless of the outcome—belongs to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His grace and mercy abound each day. May His will be done.
Thank you to my father Brian and mother Penny, as well as my entire family—including our seven wonderful kids: Gunner, Jackson, Peter Boone, Kenzie, Luke, Rex & Gwendolyn. Their future safety and security is in all our hands.
And to all the troops and veterans watching, and in this room—Navy SEALs, Green Berets, Pilots, Sailors, Marines, Gold Stars and more. Too many friends to name. Officers and Enlisted. Black and White. Young and Old. Men and Women. All Americans. All warriors. This hearing is for you. Thank you for figuratively, and literally, having my back. I pledge to do the same for you. All of you. //
As I’ve said to many of you in our private meetings, when President Trump chose me for this position, the primary charge he gave me was—to bring the warrior culture back to the Department of Defense. He, like me, wants a Pentagon laser focused on warfighting, lethality, meritocracy, standards, and readiness. That’s it. That is my job. //
My only special interest is—the warfighter. Deterring wars, and if called upon, winning wars—by ensuring our warriors never enter a fair fight. We let them win and then bring them home. Like many of my generation, I’ve been there. //
The desperation of the left was evident in the fact that no one addressed policy or strategic questions with all of them choosing to direct personal attacks on Hegseth's character. //
It is difficult to get away from the feeling that the Democrats knew they had nothing to stop him, so they resorted to smearing him as much as possible before he takes office.
Hegseth came across weakest on the complaint that he'd refused to engage in one-on-one meetings with any of the Democrats other than the ranking member. His reason for doing so was obvious. The substance of any conversation would be lied about or distorted, and the conversation would give the Democrats a chance to test how he would respond to questions. Hegseth unconvincingly passed this off as "scheduling conflicts" because you can't very well try to come across as bipartisan while revealing that you don't trust the Democrats. //
In terms of optics, Hegseth was polite, responsive, and telegenic. He was able to successfully filibuster during some particularly nasty personal attacks and not look flustered or angry. In terms of intelligence, he may very well have been one of the two or three smartest guys in the room.
Hegseth's focus on cultural battles will distract Defense from its mission.
Nations come back from lost wars and economic disasters. They don't come back from cultural collapse. I would contend that the primary challenge facing the US military is that the military ethos and warrior spirit needed to prevail in combat is being eroded at a staggering rate. Unless Hegseth can stop that and get back to first things, nothing else matters. //
Expect fireworks, but in the end, expect Pete Hegseth to do what needs to be done to get a majority vote from the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Trump loves their hit song "Y.M.C.A.", and his playing it at his rallies in 2024 helped to drive the song to No. 1 on the Billboard chart after more than 45 years (and held on to No. 1 for two weeks), as lead singer Victor Willis explained. //
The financial benefits have been great as well as Y.M.C.A. is estimated to gross several million dollars since the President Elect’s continued use of the song. Therefore, I’m glad I allowed the President Elect’s continued use of Y.M.C.A. And I thank him for choosing to use my song. //

So let me get this straight...Jack Smith, who should never have begun a case, seeks by any means possible, mostly inuendo, to put Trump in jail gets to release his "report" and nobody named in the report for any reason can defend themselves from Smith's, largely, slander. Smith gets to resign with what he would consider clean hands even though once again he failed to complete his assignment in terms of law, but succeeds to rub people's reputations in the mud. Makes you wonder if Biden will give Smith a pardon,...or maybe a Medal of Freedom,... with distinction.

To date Cannon is the only Court that has ruled Smith's appointment unlawful.
And if it gets appealed the 11'th Circuit Appeals Court will uphold his appointment.
Not once has the 11'th circuit Appeals Court ruled against Smith or in favor of Trump and his co-defendants.

"An uncomfortable thought has circulated among some Biden aides and longtime supporters in the days since Carter died: If Biden passes while Trump is president, would he get a state funeral?"

Biden confronts an ending with Carter’s funeral | CNN Politics
5:21 PM · Jan 9, 2025
Validating their concerns, the aides reference Democrats' absolute delight that Carter's passing means flags will be set at half-staff through President-elect Trump's inauguration, something he has voiced dismay over.
They also note that Trump initially did not lower flags to half-staff at the White House to honor John McCain after his death in August 2018.
Considering their cordial meeting at the White House in November, it seems unlikely that Trump would refuse to honor Biden's wishes. Despite the fact that Biden's administration did their absolute best for years to put him in jail.
Not to mention, it seems more like a case of projection. Is there any doubt President Biden and his aides would have refused to honor Trump had he unfortunately passed while Joe and Kamala were in office?
Recall, if you will, that congressional Democrats in 2021 introduced a bill that would ban former President Donald Trump from being buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
The legislation - H.R.484 or the "No Glory for Hate Act" - was sponsored by Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-CA) and co-sponsored by 13 additional Democrats, including newly minted Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and former congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA).
The Act’s summary indicated it was designed to “prohibit the use of Federal funds for the commemoration of certain former Presidents, and for other purposes.”
It is designed specifically to prevent “the interment or inurnment in Arlington National Cemetery of any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives.”
Weird. He should have a special plot, considering he's also the only twice-acquitted former President.

The only reason they are concerned about this is they know that if the shoe were on the other foot Biden would not give Trump a state funeral. They know that for a fact. So of course they’re worried that Trump would do exactly what Biden would do. But you know what? Trump is a better man than Biden. And if Biden dies while Trump is president, there will be a state funeral and Trump will say nice things about Biden. Because that’s the kind of guy Trump is.
During his appearance on Fox News with host Steve Hilton's nighttime show, the man did not hold back when the host invited him to give his take on the sentencing.
Patel didn't leave it at that, though. Instead, he used that opportunity as an opening to make news on one of Trump's priorities--making sure those who chose to commit lawfare are held accountable. That, according to Patel, will absolutely include Loren Merchan, the daughter of the New York judge. He said that he, along with partners in Congress, will issue subpoenas for Loren Merchan's company, which made about $15M on the trial. That's the thumbnail, but the entire clip is worth watching, since he gives even more, new details on the plans. //

Representative Mike Waltz, President Trump's choice to lead the National Security Council, said in an interview published Thursday that all current civil service members of the NSC who are detailed from another agency are expected to be out of the building as soon as Trump is sworn in.
“Everybody is going to resign at 12:01 on January 20,” Waltz said. “We’re working through our process to get everybody their clearances and through the transition process now. Our folks know who we want out in the agencies, we’re putting those requests in, and in terms of the detailees they’re all going to go back.”
What Waltz, a retired Special Forces colonel, is reacting to is the obstruction and leaks from the NSC staff on loan from other agencies that damaged Trump's agenda in his first term. He plans to get rid of people who may have made a career as part of the "interagency process" and have more loyalty to that process than they do to Trump. //

Nah, you were fired for leaking a privileged conversation to a co-conspirator who then had himself labeled a "whistleblower" to create a fake fact case for impeaching President Trump. And also for being a treasonous oxygen thief. //
There is an admitted danger in groupthink. We can see that in the way the Biden NSC has coddled Iran, China, and Russia in the misguided view that in some bizarro universe, they would become useful members of the international community. Dissent doesn't need to be hashed out at the staff level. Also, I don't think anyone in the Trump administration is interested in "continuity of policy" with Biden because his foreign policy failures, both active and in terms of missed opportunities, are the stuff of legend. //
You have to admire how Vindman categorizes himself as a "talented professional" who was dismissed for taking "principled stances or offering objective advice." Actually, the role of making policy in civil service is the realm of political appointees. The career staff are supposed to serve every president loyally. The last thing needed in the NSC are staffers who are first and foremost loyal to "the way we've always done it," who are overly concerned about the agency "equities" at stake when decisions are made, and who see themselves as players in policy in their own right. //

Also, when he says, “tens of thousands of senior apolitical government officials” he is unintentionally letting slip how many actually need to be fired.
Denmark sent private messages in recent days to President-elect Trump's team expressing willingness to discuss boosting security in Greenland or increasing the U.S. military presence on the island, two sources with knowledge of the issue tell Axios.
Not only that, Greenland’s leader Múte Egede said that he was prepared to enter into negotiations with Trump about the territory.
When I first heard that Donald Trump was talking about reacquiring the Panama Canal, I thought, "He's just trolling the world." Now that I realize he isn't, I thought I'd better bone up on the subject. //
Now, I was completely oblivious to that fact and learned that CK Hutchinson, a company moored up pretty tightly to the CCP, runs two port facilities located at each end of the canal. In 1997, they initiated a deal with the Panamanian government (two years before the US fully handed over the canal) to manage them.
Apparently, they have no plans to go anywhere. And this is a problem because Beijing is not our friend. //
Now, you have to remember that China always has a plan, and they don't do anything without forethought. And as they have become increasingly belligerent over the past 20 years at least, one has to assume that putting down roots in Panama, a global choke point, serves a purpose for Beijing. I doubt that purpose has any sort of goodwill for us. //
What I do know is that if China shut down the canal to us, we'd be going to war unless the plan is to shut down the canal once they actually invade Taiwan. I doubt they'd ever do it beforehand. That would sort of be like expecting Egypt to sit on its hands if the Sudanese ever dammed up the Nile. //
the Chinese are in the canal zone in an official capacity; they're there for a reason, and they have become increasingly belligerent on the world front over the years, so it's safe to assume that reason doesn't bode well for us as the largest user of the canal. I believe Donald Trump recognizes this. I don't think he's trolling. I think he is forewarning.
And I think he should.

Our @JoeKhalilTV was able to catch up with @JohnFetterman after @NewsNation confirmed he is going to Mar-a-Lago to meet with President-elect Trump.
Fetterman joked he wants to be appointed the “Pope of Greenland”. //
But Fetterman might have one problem with being Pope to Greenland. It's really cold there and I think he would have to wear long pants. So he might not get the appointment.
This is because Newsom forgot — or likely never understood — what he is. He saw himself, not a servant of the people, but a king with the abiltiy to rule over the people as he pleases. You saw this from him quite a bit during the pandemic when he had rules for thee, but not for he. While you were locked down, he was having dinner at fancy restaurants.
I think it's funny that Newsom prioritized "Trump-proofing" his state enough to ignore the clear danger of out-of-control wildfires, because it's Trump that's actually demonstrating servitude.
Trump's goals are to reduce government waste, make it cheaper to operate, reduce the tax burden on the people, reduce their problems, and fix their economy. The man didn't have to do this. He was wealthy, well-loved, and didn't need the headache, but decided to take on the burden of fixing problems people like Newsom made because he is, at heart, a servant of the people. He doesn't look or sound like one, but he is. //

Another teachable moment may follow. These homes belonged to wealthy taxpayers who carry most of the burdens of Newscum's government. If they decide to leave rather than rebuild, California won't be able to pay its bills. It can't now but this compounds the problems.
piscorman 2020vision

As you know, many didn't have insurance because Gov Hairdo's restrictions on rate increases caused State Farm to pull out of the state. Those who didn't have insurance likely owned the home outright, and will bear the full cost of the rebuild. My hunch is they will just leave rather than deal with California's dysfunctional government.
That sounds a bit arcane, and it likely is; the president, as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, should take the word of the Constitution first and foremost. But, yes, everything is (tiresomely at times) subject to legal interpretation. What's interesting here is that Durbin is asking the DOJ to rescind opinions that he evidently agreed with while Joe Biden was president.
Did you hear that scraping sound? That's the sound of goalposts being moved. //

Hey, Durbin. What part of Commander-in-Chief don’t you get?? As for use of the military domestically, General Winfield Scott, the senior army commander, stated in 1861 a self-evident fact. The military is to deal with threats foreign and domestic. Ever heard of Lincoln using the US military domestically? If that was not “domestic”, the invasion of the Confederacy was simply an act of aggression by the US government.

The “experts” were left “head-scratching”after Trump suggested to clean up brush and build more infrastructure to store water.
They were perplexed by the most obvious solution imaginable.
Amazing.
9:11 AM · Jan 8, 2025. //
Trump’s suggestions have prompted head-scratching from experts who say his prescriptions — more raking, less water released into the ocean for environmental purposes — suggest he does not understand the science of wildfires. Critics also point out that most of California’s wildlands are federally managed. //
The 2024 budget also included increased funding for forest management and wildfire prevention. The state also has the largest aerial firefighting force in the world. Further, it should be noted that much of the land that burns in California and then spreads to populated areas is federally owned and maintained.
Unfortunately, President Joe Biden's Forestry Service canceled all of its controlled burns last Fall out of worry the agency (and by virtue, the White House) would be blamed if anything went wrong. Yes, the federal government valued protecting itself from scrutiny over the lives and livelihoods of California residents. I'd say that's surprising, but it's not surprising at all.
One of the larger issues that does fall on the shoulders of California's leadership is water management. While rainy winters have helped mostly fill the existing reservoirs over the last several years, the lack of capacity has still led to valuable water flowing into the ocean. California has not built a new reservoir since 1979 despite suffering numerous droughts and wildfires over the years. That isn't lost on voters in the state, who passed Proposition 4 in November, which allocated significant funds to increase capacity that is sorely lacking. Whether that will be followed through on is anyone's guess. //
Trump attempted to change federal government policy to increase water diversions into existing reservoirs as a measure to fight wildfires. He was sued by the State of California and a series of environmental groups. They won an injunction in 2020, stopping his plans to provide more desperately needed water.
On the eve of President Joe Biden’s inauguration, Mark Levin warned, “We’re standing at the precipice and we’re looking into the abyss.”. //
Weeks after Biden took office, Sky News host Cory Bernardi told viewers the only thing worse than Biden’s mental condition is the extent to which the mainstream media covers it up. He said, “Never before has the leader of the Free World been so cognitively compromised. … It’s clear to me at the least that U.S. President Joe Biden is struggling with dementia and is clearly not up to the task he’s been sworn in to do.”. //
America’s return to normalcy arguably began the moment Trump secured victory. From a global perspective, adversaries quickly recognized that a strong, unpredictable, and bold leader—occasionally ruthless—would soon replace the feeble and ineffectual figure currently occupying the White House.
Things will be very different the second time around. Trump’s unfamiliarity with Washington’s inner workings left him unprepared for the injustices he faced during his first campaign and presidency. It’s fair to say he was naive, taking advice from those who sought his failure and placing trust in the wrong people.
Yet, despite relentless attempts by Democrats to destroy him—through impeachments, indictments, and slander—Trump remains standing, stronger and wiser. //
Trump emphasized, “The bottom line is to get the right people. If you put the right individuals and teams at the heads of these massive agencies, you’ll achieve tremendous success. And now, I know these people better than anyone.”. //
We have already begun our climb out of the abyss.

While it will take a while to change the leadership in the DOJ even after the top gets appointed, it will be very risky for Any DOJ Employee to leak that report. I believe that the Trump Administration would be very likely to collect a few proverbial 'scalps' on defiant DOJ Law deniers early in their Administration, and this would be an excellent test case. The report had material from Grand Jury testimony, that by law, is not releasable. It was collected by a person not eligible by Law to collect it. A Federal Judge ruled against its release. If it does get leaked by a Federal Employee, they not only will be liable for many Criminal charges, they also would be liable to civil charges by the US Citizens illegally disparaged by the leak of this information. That would be grounds for denying their Pension, or having it awarded to those so disparaged. While I would be upset that innocent citizens would be disparaged by its leak, there is some comfort that there would be both punitive and compensatory effects of this leak.

I'm thinking that a "deal deal" with Greenland and Denmark could be structured like an economic development corporation (EDC). These are nonprofits that work with geographic areas in cities cooperating with businesses to supply plans and services to develop that area. I'm a humble marketer and no expert, but I'd bet that the Trumps have worked with plenty of them. That way we get security and access to resources, kick out the Chinese (mandatory), help Denmark on their issues with Greenland, Greenlanders are part of the EDC representation, run their affairs, improve their economy, yet the Danes keep it as a territory or state. We don't take it on as a US colony or territory, but it's supervised, planned against specified goals. A win all around. //

This idea of acquiring Greenland at first sounds crazy, but as noted Harry Truman wanted to buy it from Denmark in 1946, at a time when the USSR was beginning to flex its post-war muscles. Greenland has lots of natural resources but also. has a coastline that would open into a northwest passage. Both China (declaring itself an Arctic country!!!) and Russia are eying the Arctic Ocean for its trade routes and natural resources. Greenland has had an uneasy relationship with Denmark over the recent years and is subsidised by Denmark (but also restricted). Trump eyes Greenland as an ally and a trade source and is playing the art of the deal.

This from Wikipedia:
In 2016, the BBC published a report which stated that the administration of United States President Jimmy Carter (1977–1981) had extensive contact with Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and his entourage in the prelude to the Iranian Revolution of 1979.[1][2] The report was based on "newly declassified US diplomatic cables".[1][2] According to the report, as mentioned by The Guardian, Khomeini "went to great lengths to ensure the Americans would not jeopardise his plans to return to Iran - and even personally wrote to US officials" and assured them not to worry about their interests in Iran, particularly oil.[1][2] According to the report, in turn, Carter and his administration helped Khomeini and made sure that the Imperial Iranian army would not launch a military coup
There are a lot of people here in the USA that do not know that Carter Gave the Ayatollah Khomeini a crap ton of money (read: Millions) and allowed them to take over Iran. The thanks for using our tax money was a bunch of hostages held for over a year.

The context of giving away the Panama Canal stemmed from all the 1970s self-flagellation America went through in the wake of Vietnam. The idea of America a force of evil in the world, which gained ascendancy with opposition to the Vietnam War, combined with the rise of "revisionist" scholarship on the Cold War which blamed America, not Stalin for why the Cold War started, and all the trashing of America over getting rid of Marxist regimes in Guatemala and Chile is why Jimmy Carter felt that giving away the Canal would be a way of showing America making amends for all those things they never had to apologize for in the first place.
It didn't help that he not only got the backing RINO Senator Howard Baker, but also the backing of William F. Buckley. Indeed, there was a big "Firing Line" debate between Buckley and Reagan on the Canal and its telling that on Buckley's side was George Will, while Reagan's side had Pat Buchanan. George Will of course now stands exposed as Never-Trumper fake. //
