On the other hand, FOX News had a reporter reporting on striking dock workers. He asked the group how many were going to vote for Trump. ALL BUT ONE HAND WENT UP. The one guy who resisted was not going to explain why. //

Any mention of the fact that the ILE strike ended about 3 hours after DeSantis did a presser that he was sending in the FL Nat'l Guard to secure and "restore operations" in Florida's many ports?
He folded the paper tiger faster than an origami contest.
DESANTIS: Well, here's what I would just say generally. The election needs to be about the fact that Kamala Harris is an unacceptable choice for president of the United States. Doesn't matter what you thought before. Now, she cannot be president for a variety of reasons. I've articulated some. I know the campaign has done other.
Any other energy spent talking about anything else, I think, is playing on the Democrats' turf. They want the election to be about something that the VP candidate said five years ago or something that happened ten years ago. If we're arguing on that, then the Democrats are in a better spot. This is about Kamala.
She is not equipped to be president. That's why Obama didn't endorse her right out of the gate, because he knows that. Now it looks like she's corralled the nomination, but we can't act like she's somehow an acceptable choice. She's the most left-wing nominee that we have had in this country in at least fifty years. //

DeSantis is 100% right here. We all must stay focused on Harris. She is not acceptable as president. She is that bad. I mean, I hate Obama, but he was at least competent at what he did even if everything he did was awful. Harris will be bad at everything she does and she'll make huge mistakes. She'll be far worse than even Biden was. That must be the message.
Republicans -- ALL Republicans must stay on message about that.
No, don't call her puerile names. No, don't bring up her flip-flopping race claims. No, don't even bring up her using sex to gain power. Let surrogates do that.
For all pundits, politicians, Trump staff, and Trump/Vance themselves, it must be about how incompetent Harris is and what a disaster her Vice Presidency was and how influential she was with the Biden administration. That's evidence of how bad she will be as president.
My fellow Republicans, let's send Joe Biden back to his basement, and let's send Donald Trump back to the White House. Life was more affordable when Donald Trump was President, our border was safer under the Trump administration, and our country was respected when Donald Trump was our commander-in-chief. Joe Biden has failed this nation. //
Our enemies do not confine their designs between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. We need a commander-in-chief who can lead 24 hours a day and seven days a week. America cannot afford four more years of a 'Weekend at Bernie's' Presidency. //
Let's be honest here, Biden is just a figurehead. He's a tool for imposing a leftist agenda on the American people. They support open borders, allowing millions and millions of illegal aliens to pour into our country and to burden our communities, but just don't send any to Martha's Vineyard, then they get really upset.
REPORTER: Your office told us that you plan to appeal the gender-affirming ruling from yesterday. So my question today, since we're talking about the budget of taxpayer dollars, why should taxpayer dollars go to this case for the appeal?
DESANTIS: Because it's wrong to mutilate minors. It is wrong to perform a sex change on a 16-year-old. You're not allowed to get a tattoo, but somehow, you can have your privates cut off? Give me a break. //
It's ridiculous. Of course, a state can protect children. //
DESANTIS: This idea of using tax dollars because the media will point out, "Oh, the state is spending money to do." So if you say that we shouldn't do that, you're saying that any liberal judge should be able to veto the policy of the State of Florida because they go to the same judges every time, we lost almost every time, and we win on appeal almost every time.
That's what happens so if you're not willing to defend Florida's duly-enacted statutes against liberal jurisprudence, then you're basically saying the people of Florida shouldn't govern themselves and that we should just turn over our destiny to some trial judge somewhere. That I refuse to do.
DESANTIS: What this is doing, when they're doing a sex change on a teenager, there's a lot of people that want to make money off that, consequences be damned, their lining their pockets and they could care less about what's going to happen to that teenager when they become 25, which many regret and have big-time problems as a result of that.
But it's also just a fact of, you used the term "gender-affirming-care," which is what media uses and what the left uses. You're not affirming that. You're trying to change their basic biology, which you can not do. You can not do that. How you're born is what you are. And so I think it's about, are we going to be rooted in truth as a society or not? And if we're rooted in truth, then you would say, of course, you can't do these surgeries because it's not going to take and transform somebody that's a male into a female.
It's not until you click the link and read beyond the headline that you find out that the poll was a national poll, not a state poll:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has one of the highest disapproval ratings among U.S. governors, a national survey from Morning Consult found.
Morning Consult tracked three months’ worth of survey data from about 9,000 voters. //
And it wasn't until the last line in the piece that they pointed out his approval ratings among Republicans nationally are rock solid: //

In 2022, Ron DeSantis won re-election by a landslide. His 19.4% margin of victory was the largest since 1982 and the largest for a Republican since 1868.
The Walt Disney Company has bent the knee and agreed to a settlement with the Ron DeSantis-appointed Central Florida Tourism Oversight District in exchange for dropping its state-level lawsuit. After over a year of legal machinations and false proclamations from a breathless press stating DeSantis had been beaten by "Mickey Mouse," the complete opposite turned out to be the truth.
But according to NBC News, DeSantis' claim was only "half true" - because he wasn't flying the planes himself:
“Biden’s neglect has been atrocious,” DeSantis said. “He left them stranded; they couldn’t get flights out. So I scrambled resources in Florida. I sent planes over to Israel, and I brought back over 700 people to safety.”
This is half-true. The Biden administration initially told Americans in Israel to take advantage of commercial flights on Oct. 9, but flights from Israel to the U.S. were scarce, and prices were reportedly as high as $25,000. Some Americans in Israel at the time posted on social media that they were stranded.
On Oct. 12, DeSantis signed an executive order that allowed the Florida Division of Emergency Management to pay for Americans in Israel to fly back to the U.S. The flights, however, were organized by the Tampa-based nonprofit group Project Dynamo, which specializes in rescuing Americans in distress, and DeSantis’ primary role was to fund the flights.
The Community Note added to it was spot on.
"The governor ordered the evacuation via an EO. The mechanics of how it was done doesn’t negate the fact that the Governor’s statement is true," it read.
Further, as one Twitter user, Faye Hausendorff, explained, DeSantis' involvement wasn't just to fund the flights:
Ok, I’m also going to call bullshit on the NBC note that Gov DeSantis “just” funded the flights. You and the rest of Gov DeSantis’s staff have been too modest to talk about this too much on Twitter, but I heard directly from friends and acquaintances who were on those flights how much you guys did to get them safely to the plane. If I understood correctly, there was quick coordination by the staff with IDF and Israeli government sources to get those passengers who were in dangerous areas to the flight in one piece and safely. In the case of one woman and her two young kids who had to hide in the car overnight, Gov DeSantis’s office kept talking to her and the IDF all throughout the night until they arrived safely at Ben-Gurion.
In the words of one acquaintance, a lifelong lefty, “Gov DeSantis’s people got me home, and my emergency email to the State Department went unanswered.” So no, the Governor and his staff did not just arrange for funding. You all may literally have saved lives. I am eternally grateful. And screw NBC.
