Over time, I've found myself agreeing with Taibbi and his co-host Walter Kirn more often than not. We may not share the exact same politics, but we share a whole lot of the same values. I've also come to appreciate Taibbi's earnest belief in America's foundational principles and his almost endearing disbelief at the current state of his chosen profession. //
Because “freedom of speech” is now frequently described as a stalking horse for hate and discrimination — the UN High Commissioner Volker Türk scolded Elon Musk that “free speech is not a free pass” — it’s becoming one of those soon-to-be-extinct terms. Speech is mentioned in “reputable” media only as a possible vector for the informational disease known as misinformation.
The end game is not controlling speech. They’re already doing that. The endgame is getting us to forget we ever had anything to say.
....Let's be clear about our language. Madison famously eschewed the word toleration or tolerance when it came to religion and insisted on the words freedom or liberty instead. This became the basis for the Virginia Declaration of Rights, which in turn became the basis for the Bill of Rights. That's why we don't have “toleration of religion” or “toleration of speech.” We have freedom of speech. The right word for the right time.
To the people who are suggesting that there are voices who should be ignored because they're encouraging mistrust or skepticism of authority, or obstructing consensus: I'm not encouraging you to be skeptical of authority. I'm encouraging you to DEFY authority. That is the right word for the this time. //
In this speech, Taibbi hit all the right notes, with a nod to our history, the history of free speech, the Gospel of John and the power of words — and the Word. He captured the spirit of what it means to be quintessentially American — to be free. //

Matt Taibbi personifies the difference between a liberal and a Leftist. It is important to our Republic that we all know the difference. Behold...
They were so intent on trolling Vance, they didn't get that they were suggesting that it was in fact political and throwing the restaurant under the bus. Plus, it was silly because it also brought back up the real story from that visit in August.
It doesn't make Kamala look good, it makes her look petty and mean girl-ish.
The Trump War Room rapid response account was right there to blow their game.

These weren't regular diners. As we reported back then, the real regular diners were upset when they said they were made to leave just before Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and their whole entourage descended upon the restaurant.
What the video above and the news reports didn't say was that the people besides campaign staff, press and restaurant workers were invited guests/Kamala supporters and volunteers.

I don't think many Americans appreciate this danger. In banana republics, politicians, judges and lawyers are often murdered with impunity. Politicians, judges and lawyers are, for better or worse, the foundation of our Republic. Mass illegal immigration is bringing not the best of foreign cultures to our shores, but the worst of abuses of civil society. That's what Harris is promising to give more of--a world in which lawyers, judges and politicians, or the doctor who misdiagnoses your cancer, or the priest who opposes abortion, or the store keeper who didn't give you your change fast enough, is a bona fide target. For all of us lawyers who came under threat during the covid hoax for challenging government policy, this is just plain unbelievable. Lawyers having to carry guns? Lawyers having to give instructions to their spouses about what to do if they disappear on the way home from work? this is America? And that's why this story is not funny and needs to be seriously considered.

The erosion of the rule of law was the goal of the Marxists. Thank all of your Soros-backed cohort for making the law as ugly and meaningless as possible.

Veep Kamala got a glowing write-up in @wwd about the $62,000 Tiffany necklace she wore to the border.

It’s not just a necklace around her throat (one that she's worn before), it’s an albatross, as the NY Post so aptly put it:
The border crisis has been an albatross around Kamala Harris’ neck — and now her jewelry is too.

"The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projects that deficit spending for fiscal 2024 will reach a staggering $1.9 trillion. This comes on top of the $7 trillion added to the federal debt under Biden, bringing us to the highest level of indebtedness in our nation’s history, surpassing the previous high during World War II.
"Biden’s insatiable deficit spending has not only lit the fuse on record inflation but has resulted in the highest interest rate hikes in a quarter century. The cost just to service our national debt has increased by $540 billion, or 153%, since Biden took office. Those net interest expenses represented 9% of federal revenue in 2021 and are projected to double to 18% in 2024 and rise to 23% in 2034.
"Massive federal spending along with failed economic policies under unified Democratic control of government caused inflation to climb to 9.1% in June 2022. Inflation is still sticking at levels well above the Federal Reserve’s target for reducing interest rates.
"In total, prices have risen nearly 20% since Biden became president, forcing families to pay more than $17,000 more per year, or $1,400 per month, for the same goods and services. Sadly, inflation has grown faster than income over the last three years, reducing real wages by 4% since January 2021."

Kamala Harris told the media she was going to try to troll former President Donald Trump at the Alabama-Georgia game on Saturday.
But the effort failed miserably and just showed how desperate she was.
Her campaign told the media that they were going to have a small plane fly over Tuscaloosa during the game at Bryant-Denny Stadium with a banner that said, “Trump’s Punting on 2nd Debate.” //
Except it didn't come off; it was a complete failure. It was nowhere to be seen during the game.
According to the New York Times, they were told by the Harris campaign that they couldn't do it because of "weather."
It was typical Kamala — all talk and no result. //
Harris just made herself look silly and desperate. She probably couldn't get all of her ridiculous word salad on a banner. If you're winning, you don't have to play such games to try to get attention.
Then too, she failed to understand the people to whom she was trying to appeal, much as she fails to understand most Americans.
Instead, Trump was wildly cheered when he was introduced at the game.
there was a funny catfight between two people who are election prognosticators, Professor Allan Lichtman and Nate Silver.
Lichtman has a system where he applies true or false questions to 13 questions. if there are six or more false answers, the challenger -- in this case, former President Donald Trump -- would win. But Lichtman has interpreted his keys and he's predicting Kamala Harris will win. //

The funny thing is if you actually apply his keys correctly based on how he's applied them in the past, they predict a Trump victory. More about this soon lol.

Nate Silver has finally seen the light! Weeks after I predicted a Harris victory he has come down from a 2/3 probability of a Trump victory to a 58% probability of a Harris victory.

Nate. you don’t have the faintest idea about how to apply my keys. You are neither a historian or a political scientist or have any academic credentials of any kind. Remember you were wrong when you said the keys could early predict Obama’s reelection.

I've spent way too much time on this and have a lot of receipts from how you've applied your keys in the past! At least 7 of the keys, maybe 8, clearly favor Trump. Sorry brother, but that's what the keys say. Unless you're admitting they're totally arbitrary?

Allan let's just say the little tricks you've played with the Keys in the past will come back to haunt you! The Keys shall be respected: they will outlast this little rivalry of ours. And they clearly predict a Trump win!
