I worked as a general IT guy for a behavioral health/addiction clinic. I started as a consultant but finally moved to part-time on call worker so I could be protected by their liability insurance rather than having to cover myself. Plus I was worried if there was a breach I would be inside the corporate wall rather than outside.
I had big problems with vendors. The first EMR company we had, I broke down and yelled at them for the first time in my career. I saw a note asking the receptionist to gather up everyone’s password so the vendor could update their client software. When I told them that was a violation of basic network security nevermind HIPAA regulations, they said “well it’s just easier that way”. I told my boss and I finally decided to quit when I realized the clinic needed that software more than they needed me. I wasn’t around enough to keep tabs on them and I didn’t want to deal with any fallout from their shoddy security practices. Other vendors were either asking to install software on our network or open ports in the firewall so they could remotely access their devices.
That was a small practice without even a full time IT person, these big companies that can afford good cybersecurity teams and equipment have no excuse.
Joe Biden's now-infamous "garbage" comment in which he referred to Trump supporters with the derogatory term continues to haunt both the White House and the Kamala Harris campaign. On Thursday evening, things developed into a full-blown scandal, possibly including criminality.
After Biden made the statement while speaking to CNN, the White House immediately edited his remarks to insert a magical apostrophe. The narrative then shifted to claiming that the president was actually referring to a specific Trump "supporter's" garbage, in this case, a comedian who made a joke about Puerto Rico. As expected, the press ran with the revisionist history. //
This is no longer just about politics, though. According to a new report, the White House altered the transcript despite objections from the stenographer, who did not feel an apostrophe should have been added. The problem? That was almost certainly a crime. //
The supervisor, in the email, called the press office’s handling of the matter “a breach of protocol and spoliation of transcript integrity between the Stenography and Press Offices.”
“If there is a difference in interpretation, the Press Office may choose to withhold the transcript but cannot edit it independently,” the supervisor wrote, adding, “Our Stenography Office transcript — released to our distro, which includes the National Archives — is now different than the version edited and released to the public by Press Office staff.” //
It is a violation of the Presidential Records Act for anyone to tamper with and spoil an official transcript. Any requested changes are supposed to go through the Stenography Office, and they have no duty to abide by such requests if they believe them to be incorrect. The White House press office changing the transcript over their objections appears to be illegal. That it was done for obviously political reasons to protect not only Joe Biden but the Harris campaign as well, only makes the situation that much worse. //
Will the Biden-led DOJ push this issue and bring charges? Of course, not. That's not even a question at this point. Should Donald Trump's DOJ, if he were to win the election, push the issue? Absolutely. Democrats have had no mercy on Republicans the last four years, including weaponizing the law in ways it was never meant to be used. The only way that stops is by re-establishing some kind of deterrence.
The Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine (AHM) is a medical professional organization that represents roughly 30,000 physicians, and they are trying to head Kamala Harris's radical abortion and other healthcare views off should she be elected president. In an open letter to Harris, they state that doctors at various points in their careers, are facing increasing pressure from "several major medical organizations" to perform controversial procedures like abortion, euthanasia, and gender transition that go against their religious or conscience beliefs. //
The problem, of course, is Kamala Harris' radical positions on abortion and transgender issues — the few positions she has not flipped-flopped on. During a recent NBC News interview, she was asked specifically about being in favor of any type of concessions regarding abortion, like religious exemptions. Her answer was ominous, even for those who might consider themselves pro-choice. Harris was not exactly pro-choice when it came to individual religious beliefs. She stated, “I don’t think we should be making concessions when we’re talking about a fundamental freedom to make decisions about your own body." //

Docs must perform them, taxpayers must pay for them, for any reason, in all 50 states, no exceptions.

"...no conscience concessions should be afforded to health-care providers who object to performing abortions." - VP Harris
In other words, doctors, nurses & other medical providers should not be allowed to refuse to perform abortions because of their faith

I've always thought Harris Faulkner was great. She has the perfect demeanor for what she does; she is brilliant and cultured. She has a pleasant speaking tone, and she seems pretty unflappable. She's a professional by any measure, ... //
Harris just wasn't having any of that. She proceeded to let Aristimuno have it right in his barely-existent logic center.
“But Jose, you know that he has denied that,” Faulkner cut in. “He has denied that over and over and by the way, if he wanted to do that he would have – he would have done it when he was president already.” //
Look, the issue here isn't necessarily abortion, on which topic Donald Trump holds what appear to be fairly moderate views - and which issue former President Trump has also repeatedly said is now, thanks to the Supreme Court, where it belongs, with elected representatives in the various state legislatures. That's the Constitution, that's federalism, that's also the 10th Amendment.
No, the real issue is this: Why do Democrats, from Kamala Harris down to the lowest-ranking intern X-poster and bloviator, keep lying about this?
Part three of an investigation into how the Harris-Walz campaign is manipulating social media sites to artificially boost their popularity, spread election disinformation, and skirt election laws. //
But one activity I found on the Discord server was particularly concerning. After years of Democrats erroneously insisting that Donald Trump had colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election and otherwise warning of foreign election manipulation, the Harris-Walz campaign is actively recruiting foreigners to work on the campaign and is even encouraging them to donate to American political causes.
There appears to be no vetting, and given that the Harris-Walz campaign’s Discord community overtly engaged in disinformation campaigns, it was ripe for infiltration and abuse by foreign intelligence and other bad actors attempting to influence the election — although I saw no concrete proof of that. //
The Harris-Walz staff are clearly teaching foreigners how to skirt FEC regulations. This may not be illegal, but it is enticing foreign nationals to influence American elections — something that Democrats have spent years warning is a serious threat to democracy.
Whether this directly violates election laws is also beside the point for many Americans, who believe foreign nationals should not be allowed to volunteer for U.S. presidential campaigns. American elections should be for Americans, and the Harris-Walz campaign is actively inviting foreign influences into their campaign.

On Oct. 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany. This past Sunday, many congregations celebrated this event as a catalyst for the way the Reformed faith [Protestant church] came to be and continues to understand its calling. //
Whatever your faith, spiritual practice, or however you phrase it, the next step after voting is praying: for our nation, for the safety of former President Trump and JD Vance and their families, and yes, as I have said before, pray for the other side, including President Joe Biden.
But I'm going to go further: Pray for Kamala Harris to hear God's Word, to truly repent the evil she has pushed to prosper in our nation through politics. And ask God to protect her, her running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), and all of their loved ones.

I predict that, unlike Joe Biden in 2017, she will not show up.
BTW, has this happened before, were a failed Presidential candidate was required to certify the election victory of their opponent? If so I would like to run a comparison.

Although that most recently happened in 2000, 1968 is the closest analogy. Humphrey was LBJ's VP, and he bypassed the primaries to get the nomination at the convention after LBJ unexpectedly dropped out at the end of March, due to his overwhelming unpopularity caused by the Vietnam war. Humphrey wound up with the nomination by default after RFK's assassination in June (does any of this kind of rhyme with current events?).
After Humphrey lost to Nixon in November, LBJ spared Humphrey the embarrassment of having to certify his own loss on January 6, 1969, by sending him out of the country on some contrived diplomatic mission. Thus, the Constitutional duty of opening and counting the electoral votes fell to the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Richard Russell of Georgia, who was indubitably the greatest U.S. Senator of the 20th Century. Uncle Dick may have secretly enjoyed it. Although he was a lifetime [conservative, Southern] Democrat, he also had an excellent working relationship with Nixon, going back to the latter's own tenure in the Senate twenty years earlier.
Were Trump to win next week (please, Lord!), the same scenario would be repeating itself, and VP Harris would have the delightful duty of certifying her opponent's election. I think Biden will want to rub her nose in it, so he won't let her off the hook like LBJ did for Humphrey. However, even if she renigs reneges on her Constitutional duty, the certification process will still go forward, presided over by the President Pro Tempore, who I assume at that point will be Sen. Grassley of Iowa.
This current election is crazy, but I could make the case that 1968 was even crazier. Go read up on it and LMK what you think.
