Now we have another example. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner has formed a DOGE task force to work with the larger effort to comb through HUD's books, and one of the first things they found was $1.9 billion - that's "billion" as in a "b" followed by an "illion" - that had been "misplaced" by the Biden administration.
How, for the luvva Pete, do you "misplace" almost two billion taxpayer dollars? //
There has to be more to this story than a huge block of money confiscated by force of law from American taxpayers just being "misplaced." Remember that the Biden administration was marked by corruption and incompetence, from the very top down, and it's hard to credit that this money was just "misplaced."
When the charges against Adams were revealed, he was accused of big stuff...like taking airline upgrades and helping the Turkish embassy navigate NYC's byzantine building code system; see BREAKING: We Now Know the Charges Against New York Mayor Eric Adams – RedState. The charges were framed to look big time, but they were eerily reminiscent of the hit jobs done on Alaska Senator Ted Stevens and former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, where normal activities were mutated into federal felonies by lawyers out to get a scalp.
A sea change happened when Adams defended Trump at a press conference in the last days of the election: NYC Mayor Eric Adams Breaks With Dems Over Despicable Rhetoric: Trump Not a 'Fascist,' 'This Is America' – RedState. //
There was some speculation that Trump might pardon Adams; that didn't happen, but Trump did order DOJ to dismiss the charges against him; New: Trump Justice Dept. Directs Prosecutors to Dismiss Federal Corruption Charges Against Eric Adams – RedState. That's when the fun started. //
This shootout is nowhere near over. Bondi and Bove are still surrounded by disloyal and hostile staff. The judge in NYC is bound to do something other than accept the filing; otherwise, he'll be a social pariah. Ultimately, a judge can't force the government to prosecute a case it wants to dismiss.
It is good that this first battle came this early and over a fairly trivial issue. A lot of unreliable staff have been identified and are no longer employed. The attorneys who came to work for DOJ as a government service and not as a political commissar should now feel more comfortable knowing they have the support of the DOJ leadership team.
Pam Bondi wrote to DOJ on her first day in office, “Any attorney who because of their personal political views or judgments declines to sign a brief or appear in court, refuses to advance good-faith arguments on behalf of the administration, or otherwise delays or impedes the department’s mission will be subject to discipline and potentially termination, consistent with applicable law.” There is no doubt she is serious. //

If you want to know if the prosecution of Mayor Adams was political, ask yourself whether the DOJ would have prosecuted Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago under the same circumstances?
The answer is "NO"! Johnson just got caught with a closet full of bribes with more to come and DOJ prosecutors are nowhere in sight.
Adams went off the Democrat reservation when it came to illegal immigration and Johnson did not. Adams was prosecuted.
Depending on the router model, different Quickset modes might be available from the Quickset dropdown menu:
- CAP: Controlled Access Point, an AP device, that will be managed by a centralized CAPsMAN server. Only use if you have already set up a CAPsMAN server.
- CPE: Client device, which will connect to an Access Point (AP) device. Provides option to scan for AP devices in your area.
- HomeAP: The default Access Point config page for most home users. Provides fewer options and simplified terminology.
- HomeAP dual: Dual band devices (2GHz/5GHz). The default Access Point config page for most home users. Provides fewer options and simplified terminology.
- Home Mesh: Made for making bigger WiFi networks. Enables the CAPsMAN server in the router, and places the local WiFi interfaces under CAPsMAN control. Just boot other MikroTik WiFi APs with the reset button pressed, and they will join this HomeMesh network (see their Quick guide for details)
- PTP Bridge AP: When you need to transparently interconnect two remote locations together in the same network, set one device to this mode, and the other device to the next (PTP Bridge CPE) mode.
- PTP Bridge CPE: When you need to transparently interconnect two remote locations together in the same network, set one device to this mode, and the other device to the previous (PTP Bridge AP) mode.
- WISP AP: Similar to the HomeAP mode, but provides more advanced options and uses industry standard terminology, like SSID and WPA.
This week there was an unfortunate outage on the mynetname.net Dynamic Domain Name Service (DDNS) that MikroTik hosts for free to their customers. Many MikroTik users all over the world rely on this service for remote access to their MikroTik infrastructure. Official documentation is here: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IP/Cloud#DDNS
I thought it would be useful to share what I learned about how RemoteWinBox solves this problem for its customers, so that you too can can roll your own remote access to your MikroTiks!
All MikroTik devices come with some kind of default configuration. There are several different configurations depending on board type:
CPE Router;
LTE CPE AP router;
AP Router (single or dual-band);
PTP Bridge, W60G Bridge (AP or CPE);
WISP Bridge (AP in ap_bridge mode);
Switch;
IP Only;
CAP.
You can run the command /system default-configuration print to see the exact applied default configuration commands.
RouterBOOT can be upgraded from RouterOS by:
Run command
system/routerboard/upgrade
Do you really want to upgrade firmware? [y/n]
system reboot
Every ROS version has a new RouterBoot version included in it, once you perform a ROS upgrade we always recommend upgrading RouterBoot also.
RouterOS allows exporting and importing parts of the configuration in plain text format. This method can be used to copy bits of configuration between different devices, for example, clone the whole firewall from one router to another.
An export command can be executed from each menu (resulting in configuration export only from this specific menu and all its sub-menus) or from the root menu for complete config export and is available for CLI only. //
compact Output only modified configuration, the default behavior
file Export configuration to a specified file. When the file is not specified export output will be printed to the terminal
show-sensitive (yes|no; Default: no). RouterOS version 7 only Show sensitive information, like passwords, keys, etc.
terse With this parameter, the export command will output only configuration parameters, without defaults.
verbose With this parameter, the export command will output whole configuration parameters and items including defaults. //
If the device has a default or existing configuration that requires replacement, it is necessary to initiate a configuration reset.
This involves applying a clean, empty configuration using the command /system/reset-configuration no-defaults=yes, followed by a device reboot.

"I agree with President Trump that every abortion is a tragedy," Kennedy said. "I agree with him that we cannot be a moral nation if we have 1.2 million abortions a year. I agree with him that the states should control abortion. President Trump has told me that he wants to end late-term abortions, and he wants to protect conscience exemptions." //
Was there something on Instagram, maybe multiple somethings, that made Planned Parenthood worried about their billions in grants from HHS? Has the advent of Mr. Kennedy, who (perhaps surprisingly for a guy who was a Democrat until about five minutes ago), made them worried about some social media posts, perhaps supporting "any abortion at any time, up through the fetus's high school graduation," endangering the HHS cash flow?
That may be. The sudden deletion of, apparently, every post that an organization made on Instagram, would seem to be the action of an organization with something to hide.

Here is my solution as a Constitutional amendment:
If you're not eligible to vote for a candidate for public office, you cannot contribute to their campaign.... Period.
But this is a high bar indeed.
Better results might occur at the state level.... after all Sates, not the Federal Government, runs elections.
So here ya go....
You're not eligible to vote for an initiative, proposition, or candidate... you can't contribute to them.... Period.

I like it. Cuts out the outside money, helps focus the candidates on their constituents.
Slowly but surely, these multiple lawsuits against the Trump administration, often for exercising the barest amount of oversight of agency expenditures, are being settled. The Trump agenda is being slowed, but not as much as the first time around. The actions by the administration are much better planned and coordinated than they were in 2017, and the lawyering is much superior. When the dust settles, Trump will have had his way on these ridiculous ankle-biter cases, and I think he will score a huge win at SCOTUS that will crush the administrative state. More on that to come in a VIP post.

Ranked choice voting uses multiple rounds of voting. That’s effectively more than one vote per person. That arguably makes it unconstitutional. //

I have had the same problem with couple of Disc lite5.
After setting device as ap-bridge, it becomes invisible to winbox and ping.
Station side, I could connect to bridge-ap only by MAC.
AP side wise, ap-bridge was completely invisible.
Comparing setups I have found that interface list of station-bridge is fine but interface list of bridge-ap misses "bridge".
Add mannualy "bridge" and set as LAN.
After that, ap-bridge is fully available from both sides by IP or MAC.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
We won all seven swing states
And the popular vote too
The country's a red one
The country's not blue
Trump can hire old Elon
And send aliens home too
They're cutting the spending
Cutting down on fraud too
If you were a recipient
There's nothing you can do
There'll be no more pronouns
Child sex changes too
No more trans in the military
DEI is all through
Oh, I see it all the time….
Actually, Elon called me, he said, you know they're trying to drive us apart. I said absolutely. No, they said, “we have breaking news that Donald Trump has ceded control of the presidency to Elon Musk. President Musk will be attending a cabinet meeting at 8 o'clock.” [Musk cracks up in laughter at this point.]
And I say, it's just so obvious, they' so bad at it. I used to think they were good at it. They're actually bad at it because if they were good at it, I'd never be president. …I think nobody in history has ever gotten more bad publicity than me. I could do the greatest things. I get 98 percent bad publicity. //

He just did [ridiculed the press], with the greatest one-liner of all.
In comments to Fox News Digital, Homan said that he was asking the Justice Department for their interpretation of the law regarding impeding and obstruction, and that he is "well aware of the Constitution, but I am also aware that DOJ gives legal interpretations on issues like this to ensure ICE acts in accordance of the law.". //
He then suggested Ocasio-Cortez read Title 8 USC 1324 and 8 USC 1325,"statutes enacted by Congress, of which she is a part of."
"It’s not OK to be in the U.S. illegally. It’s a violation of federal law to enter this country illegally. It is not OK to assist those in the U.S. illegally in furtherance of their illegal entry and unlawful presence. I thought I educated her on this several years ago during congressional testimony.," he said, referencing a viral clash from the first Trump administration at a congressional hearing.
"She can call it ‘advising those who are illegally in the U.S. of their constitutional rights.' But we all know it’s really about evading ICE and how not to get arrested and how not to adhere to a federal judge’s order to leave after receiving due process at great taxpayer expense," he said. //

You can lead a horse to school, but you can’t make her think.
While the Democrats' stance on the matter is divorced from MAGA's—hardly news—what is notable is that it's also quite divorced from what was traditionally the Left's position on USAID.
Prolific mainstream and left-wing journals have reported on some of USAID's more nefarious dealings for many years, often posting critical coverage of the organization itself. Just a few weeks ago, an opinion article in American socialist magazine Jacobin kicked the organization while it's down as it became clear Trump aimed to gut it. Left-wing website The Grayzone published a similarly critical feature around the same time.
Though Democratic President John F. Kennedy established USAID in 1961 with humanitarian ambitions in mind, the organization has been distorted far beyond its intended use.
Over the years, USAID has indubitably used "humanitarianism" as a veil for regime change efforts in countries the U.S. sees political climates as unfavorable. //
Many suggest USAID also aided a regime change effort in Ukraine in 2004. This narrative came not from pro-Trump media, as one may expect it to—it was actually reported by The Guardian at the time. //
Onetime left-wing hero Matt Taibbi tore into USAID as far back as 1997 when he blamed it for making the world more hostile for American citizens because of its attempted manipulation of international politics. Furthermore, he suggested that on top of its shortsighted political engagements, it made life worse for those it intended to help. A February 3 tweet indicates he still feels largely the same about the organization. //
It's just another example of how Trump has so emphatically destroyed the traditional American political axis and recruited a cult of supporters so disillusioned with the federal government that they've gleefully adopted a traditionally left-wing viewpoint.
As for the Democrats, their marching in defense of a regime change tool that Trump's base is giddy to destroy is extraordinary, but unsurprising. The USAID saga is a further indictment that the party's messaging and actions have estranged portions of the Left—so much so that some of them are even in Trump's cabinet.
Rasmussen Reports has revealed that for the first time in two decades — two decades! — their Presidential Approval Roundup shows a majority of Americans believe the country is on the "right track."
