HAMR works on the principle that, when heated, a disk's magnetic materials can hold more data in smaller spaces, such that you can fit more overall data on the drive. It's not just putting a tiny hot plate inside an HDD chassis; as Seagate explains in its technical paper, "the entire process—heating, writing, and cooling—takes less than 1 nanosecond." Getting from a physics concept to an actual drive involved adding a laser diode to the drive head, optical steering, firmware alterations, and "a million other little things that engineers spent countless hours developing." Seagate has a lot more about Mozaic 3+ on its site. //
There is no price yet, nor promise of delivery, but you can do some wishful thinking on the product page for the Exos M, where 30 and 32TB capacities are offered. That's 3TB per platter, and up to three times the efficiency per terabyte compared to "typical drives," according to Seagate. Seagate has previously boasted that its Mozaic 3+ HAMR drives, under "aggressive field use stress tests," have seen more than seven years of head life.
Western Digital has its own 32TB drive, based on energy-assisted perpendicular magnetic recording, or e-PMR. Both companies have suggested their high-capacity drives are ideal for AI model training, given the gargantuan storage demands and energy pull of that job. Toshiba intends to move into the HAMR drive space, which accounts for all three of the major HDD makers' plans.

That reminds me of "The Plan"
The Plan
In the beginning, there was a plan,
And then came the assumptions,
And the assumptions were without form,
And the plan without substance,
And the darkness was upon the face of the workers,
And they spoke among themselves saying,
"It is a crock of shit and it stinks."
And the workers went unto their Supervisors and said,
"It is a pile of dung, and we cannot live with the smell."
And the Supervisors went unto their Managers saying,
"It is a container of excrement, and it is very strong,
Such that none may abide by it."
And the Managers went unto their Directors saying,
"It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide by its strength."
And the Directors spoke among themselves saying to one another,
"It contains that which aids plants growth, and it is very strong."
And the Directors went to the Vice Presidents saying unto them,
"It promotes growth, and it is very powerful."
And the Vice Presidents went to the President, saying unto him,
"This new plan will actively promote the growth and vigour
Of the company With very powerful effects."
And the President looked upon the Plan
And saw that it was good,
And the Plan became Policy.
And this, my friend, is how shit happens. //

Bottom line? The American people voted for Trump and his policies. That's what they want put through. They want an economy that doesn't run them over; they want a secure border; they don't want to be involved in endless wars. And they want the government cleaned out and reoriented to its true purpose and not an ever-mushrooming money pit bureaucracy that seeks to control us.

This is not the Way. And how long has it been, by the way, since Congress approved an actual budget? Oh, that's right - 1997. It would almost be funny if it wasn't so alarming; it's like they aren't even trying. //
We, and our elected representatives, would do well to remember the words of the late Barry Goldwater:
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is "needed" before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. //

"I'll go one step further and say that we must reduce not only the deficit but the national debt. "
Ward,
The national debt is a fiction. The interest however is very real and the owners of The Federal Reserve System (fancy name for private -for profit corporation) are raking it in.
JP Morgan financed two American wars in the late 1800s. How did he do it. He loaned the Federal Government actual dollars from his bank reserves. in the early 1900s he had an idea for the most lucrative business in the history of the world. Financing the Federal Government with monopoly money.
In 1910 he got together with eight other titans of banking and crafted the plan for The Fed. 15 regional banks all plugged into a central bank in DC but ultimately run by The Fed in New York.
What's cost of printing money? Inflation.
If the Federal government was printing money into existence that would be the cost. Inflation.
So why do we have a national debt in addition to inflation? The Mandrake Mechanism. The Federal Government doesn't print money. In 1913 they granted The Fed a charter to do that and then loan the money to the government at interest. The Fed literally creates money out of this air and then loans it to the American people. Now The Fed can only finance debt and what was their model? Financing wars. The US Congress was very debt averse but one thing you could count on them for... financing a war. The story goes on and on.
For the last 110 years we've had a State Department and CIA fomenting trouble all over the world. Starting fires and then putting them out. And back home we have an FBI always vigilant for any member of Congress, the press or the public for that matter who questions the lucrative arrangement.
So there is no national debt. It's all stolen money. Call it the crime of the last century. //

Understood. And I do not disagree that the Creature From Jekyll Island has been a manifest cancer on the body politic of the republic
But, I'm less inclined to agree that it's principal goal has been to forment foreign wars.
Rather, it's principal goal has been to privatize the profits of big member banks, while simultaneously socializing xing the risks and financial busts that are a direct result of the inherently fraudulent fractional reserve banking paradigm that is, alas, at the very core of our modern financial system. //

In 2008 our National Debt was around 10 Trillion, that's the year Obumer took office. The Democrats have held the Presidency 12 out of the last 16 years and our deficit is now 36 Trillion. So it took us 240 years to get to 10 trillion and only 16 years to add another 26 trillion more. How does that even happen, That is NUTS ! Regardless of which party you belong to we all should have enough brains to realize this can't continue. Name calling does nothing to help the cause and bring people together.

To be clear, this is the weaponizations that Democrats said Trump would bring about if he were elected. The Biden Administration has made little to no effort to hide its willingness to attack people who disagree with the left's agenda, whether they be parents pushing back against CRT or the transgender agenda or January 6 protesters.
But here we see the government actually paying corporate media millions of dollars to attack its enemies as well. This isn't just ideological alignment resulting in friendly reporting. This is a President paying a media company that touts to be an unbiased source of news to go after one of his political enemies. This discovery is going to be another nail in the coffin for the already dying reputation of the corporate media.
Reuters should have no right to call itself a news outlet, but a propaganda wing of the Democrat Party. //
I have a feeling that in a matter of weeks, we'll start uncovering some shocking truths about how far the corruption went under the Biden Admin, and that more than just Reuters benefited from a fascist government willing to pay them to damage their political opponents. //

I'd be careful about this story. There may be less here than the headline implies. It looks like most if not all of the contracts went to Thomson Reuters Special Services LLC. They're huge, providing lots of legal, tax, and accounting support services around the world. They do WestLaw and other legal research tools, among other things. I know the DOJ pays a massive amount for access to WestLaw - it's on every Assistant US Attorney's computer. They do anti-money laundering software for business and government, that stuff is probably in every bank in the world and the Treasury Department contracts for it. DOD spends a ton for the various Thomson Reuters services and IRS spends a bunch for their tax and accounting services. CBP uses Thomson Reuters trade and import/export stuff - and pays for it.
The Reuters news wire service - Reuters Agency - is a relatively small part of Thomson Reuters and I'm not sure that the connection between the parent company and any Reuters Agency "targeting" exists. It's certainly not clear in this report.
The Biden Admin paid Reuters over $300 million in government contracts. 11 different Biden government agencies targeted Elon's businesses. All 11 agencies paid millions to Reuters. Reuters then won the Pulitzer Prize for "their work on Elon Musk and misconduct at his businesses."
Yes, the government paid (Thomson) Reuters over $300 million in government contracts. And perhaps eleven different agencies did "target" Musk's businesses. I'm not seeing the connection, however. Just because the Justice Department spent $60 million with Thomson Reuters for WestLaw etc., doesn't mean the government was paying Reuters to target Musk.
Caution is warranted.
The bottom line here is that the gun control crowd seems okay with murder if it's murder the mob approves of.
And that, my friends, is something that torpedoes any reason to take the gun control crowd seriously at all. They detest gun violence unless said violence is done on targets that they don't mind seeing gone, or at the very least, are targets politically expedient to ignore. Insurance CEOs, black on black shootings, and border violence to name a few.
Why should we take these people seriously when it comes to their "concerns" about gun violence? They're clearly not that concerned. In truth, many of them treat a wish for gun control like a fad they pick up and drop based on who the victims are.
I mean, these are the same people who threw tantrums when the guy who tried to shoot Trump missed.

“Joe Biden is, like, dead. Not literally. Like, he, like, can’t say a sentence,” admits Henry Appel, advisor at the National Security Council (NSC), about the current state of the President’s health. Appel, who works in the Intelligence Programs Directorate, noted his team’s responsibility for providing senior policymakers with top secrets, stating, “We give all of the senior policymakers all of the secrets.”
He went on to describe Biden’s deteriorating communication skills as a concern, adding, “[Biden] can’t say a sentence.” Recalling a phone call in which the President struggled to understand the simple phrase, “novel phenomenon,” Appel shared “He [Biden] was just like, ‘What do you mean, like a book?’ when my boss [Jake Sullivan] used the word ‘novel.’” //
Appel didn’t stop there; he also recounted an exchange from a call with Biden, revealing, “I picked up the phone and said, ‘Hello, Mr. President’… and he asked for Jake [Sullivan]. After a brief exchange, Biden called me back 10 seconds later asking again, ‘Is Jake there?’” Appel told Biden, “No, he’s traveling with you,” adding, “He’s on the same trip that you are.” //
This situation should never again happen with a sitting president. Heads should roll for it happening at this time, and legislation or a constitutional amendment should be passed to ensure that it doesn't. //

The Democrat leadership liked the power structure dynamics exactly as it played out in the Biden administration.
Everyone was a winner except the American people.
We are Americans. We don't emphasize status that other societies do — like Japan. But that doesn't mean we ignore personality traits that can result in higher status. That's why Americans feel better with an alpha in charge. That's why a lot of Americans are breathing a sigh of relief right now. We're counting on America to be made strong again, and that's a task that will take a strong leader. That's a task for an alpha. And we have an alpha returning to the White House, at last, next month. //

Trump is set to have a private dinner this Sunday with Akie Abie, the widow of the late Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, a person familiar says. The dinner will take place at Mar-a-Lago and Melania Trump is expected to attend. Trump and Mrs. Abe have maintained a close relationship ever since her husband was assassinated two years ago while delivering a political speech in his home country.

And here's the part that most in the media would not want you to know:
Trump regularly calls Mrs. Abe to check in on her, a source close to the president-elect confirmed, and the dinner was scheduled through direct conversations between the two, not government channels, as is often the case with diplomatic figures.

BREAKING: A group of Senate Democrats introduce bill to abolish the Electoral College, restoring democracy by allowing the direct election of presidents through popular vote alone.
1:47 PM · Dec 16, 2024
First, we hold elections to determine who the electors will be, and they vote for the president. That's not the way it's generally described, but that's how it works. The apportionment of electors is a brilliant system that ensures that every state will have a say in presidential elections; otherwise, every presidential election would be decided in a few major cities.
But most of all, these "Senate Democrats" clearly do not comprehend that they cannot just pass a bill to abolish this system. This would require a constitutional amendment, meaning a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate, followed by ratification by 3/4 of the 50 states - 33 states. Good luck with that.
Second, on the claim of "restoring democracy," one cannot restore what has never been the case. The United States was founded as a constitutional republic and remains a constitutional republic to this day. //
Also, "restore" means "return to a preceding state." The Electors system has been in place since the Constitution was ratified. There's nothing to restore. //
Finally, there is no popular vote for president. None. The Constitution does not allow for it. Oh, the "popular vote" is oft-quoted as a statistical curiosity, and it can be interpreted as giving an incoming president a mandate - and Donald Trump's 5-million vote lead over Kamala Harris seems to have done.
Have none of the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee ever even seen a copy of the Constitution?

CNN is now a Reality TV program about a News Network. It is increasingly by default, about a dying News Network.
What this now most means, is that whatever content we are offered, is as-likely produced, as opposed to uncovered or however legitimately presented. They are perfectly willing to create their own content, as here, and throw their own people to the wolves in the process, in pursuit of the sole reality Reality TV has ever at-all concerned itself with achieving: ratings.
What Pro Wrestling is to Sports, CNN now is to News.

If the women’s libbers want to reject marriage and motherhood, it’s a free country and that is their choice. But let’s not permit these women’s libbers to get away with pretending to speak for the rest of us. Let’s not permit this tiny minority to degrade the role that most women prefer.
