The second-largest diamond ever found - a rough 2,492-carat stone - has been unearthed in Botswana at a mine owned by Canadian firm Lucara Diamond.

It is the biggest find since the 3,106-carat Cullinan diamond, found in South Africa in 1905 and cut into nine separate stones, many of which are in the British Crown Jewels.

The diamond was found at Karowe mine, about 500km (300 miles) north of Botswana's capital, Gaborone.

Botswana's government said it was the largest diamond ever discovered in the southern African state.

The previous biggest discovery in Botswana was a 1,758-carat stone found at the same mine in 2019.

Botswana is one of the world's biggest producer of diamonds, accounting for about 20% of global production.

In a statement, Lucara said the stone was "one of the largest rough diamonds ever unearthed".

"We are ecstatic about the recovery of this extraordinary 2,492 carat diamond," said Lucara head William Lamb.

The diamond was detected with the use of Lucara's Mega Diamond Recovery X-ray technology, said Mr Lamb.

It has been used since 2017 to identify and preserve high-value diamonds so that they do not break during ore-crushing processes.

At no point did any news outlet report that Trump told Netanyahu to not take a deal with Hamas, much less for political reasons as Woodruff claimed. She made the story up out of whole cloth, and then, instead of admitting it, doubled down on lying about it by blaming other outlets. That's a breach of journalistic ethics that would make Dan Rather blush.

Well, let's check in with Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo who was asked about this at the DNC on ABC. She was asked if she thought these new numbers could be a "potential liability for this [the Harris-Walz] campaign."

Texas is also dealing with what appears to be an attempt at voter fraud--and AG Paxton says he and his office won't sit idly by and let it happen. In a statement released on Wednesday, Paxton announced he's launching an investigation into numerous reports of organizations secretly registering illegal aliens to vote, while pretending they are simply registering eligible voters:

Her speeches have been heavy on the rhetoric and light on the substance. Most notable of all is that she has yet to give either a press conference or an interview—not even for a hagiographic profile in Time magazine.

What is Kamala Harris afraid of? //

The reasons for Harris’s evasion of the press are her own, but we think she has two chief motivations. First, she understands that without having to answer tough questions, she never has to worry about straying from her message. The second is that Harris doesn’t want to answer direct questions about her record—and her plans for the future—because both are lacking.

Both of those are true, there can be little doubt of that. But there's another reason, and it's one that, even more than the others, should remove Kamala Harris from any serious consideration for any elected office: She's incompetent. //

The Harris/Walz campaign has not posted one policy position on its campaign website. Kamala Harris has made one speech outlining an economic policy that could have been lifted from the pages of "Das Kapital." And if Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and the legacy media have their way, that's how it will stay. Kamala Harris is poorly informed, arrogant, and not very bright - and the legacy media are running cover.

She also spoke about "income inequality," although she was able to become a billionaire in this country.

But Trump had the best response to Winfrey's appearance at the DNC.

The Trump War Room account dropped a letter from Oprah where she says it was one thing "to live a life of integrity — still another to have people like yourself in office...Too bad we're not running for office, what a team!" //

She also had him on her show in a very welcoming way to share his views.

He's been consistent in his thought; it's they who have changed. Even then, he was talking about his concern for the country. They loved him and his money until he was put on the "bad list" by the narrative. //

Winfrey also promoted JD Vance's book at one point as well. That was prior to the narrative being constructed against him.

Instead of promoting a positive view and positive policies for America, the DNC has spent most of their time attacking Trump, having him live rent-free in their minds. They also spent a lot of time lying and ignoring reality, including about things a jobs report that scaled back the jobs created by more than 800,000.

We’re always at our strongest in our fight against sin when we see how it trades away God’s goodness for what’s much less satisfying.

Marshmallows and Trust
The marshmallow test was a 1960s psychological experiment that measured delayed gratification in children. One group of kids resisted the temptation to eat a marshmallow while the other group couldn’t. The study concluded the first group would have more success in life while the others would struggle to succeed.

The test isn’t without methodological problems, but its “findings” are influential enough that they probably shape the way you think about what you’re innately able to do or not do. For instance, have you ever said, “I just can’t seem to help myself”?

Sin trades away God’s goodness for what’s much less satisfying. //

Kidd concluded children can delay immediate gratification for a future reward in the context of a trusting relationship. //

It’s not that different with fighting sin. Just as with Satan’s lie in the garden, and comparable to Kidd’s version of the marshmallow test, doubt lies at the heart of every temptation. Doubt in God’s goodness. A temptation to believe transgression will deliver satisfaction God can’t supply.

Each of us is made with a desire to enjoy sexual pleasure. It’s part of God’s benevolent design to provide us comfort, satisfaction, and procreation in marriage. But trusting that design is difficult when the world puts constant marshmallows in your face and tempts you to think the art supplies will never come.

"Kamala Harris has yet to tell voters what her policies are, so we thought we’d help them out. Kamala Harris wants to open the borders, raise taxes, and free criminals," a Trump campaign national press secretary told Fox News Digital about the website.

The site, kamala2024policies.com, launched Wednesday morning on the third day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and takes viewers to a website declaring, "Kamala Harris' dangerous policies are nothing to laugh about."

You'll notice various polls showing that men are growing increasingly conservative, while women are becoming more leftist. Not surprising given that Democrats have embraced feminism as one of its core ideologies. It's going to be very women-centric, catering its message to females at every turn. However, Democrat logic is that all the most important groups under its umbrella are victims, and you can't have a victim without an oppressor, and men were chosen to fill that role.

Men... who make up around half of the voting population. //

The election hasn't happened yet, but rest assured, Democrat strategists are not happy that so many men have turned their backs on the Democrat Party, but it's its own fault. They decided to pick a fight with masculinity, the essence of humanity that is literally designed to fight and win.

And this problem is only going to deepen as Democrats continue to hate men.

Syncthing Debian/Ubuntu Packages

The Nextcloud desktop client does not provide a way to change the local sync directory. However, it can be done, though it is a bit unorthodox. Specifically, you have to:

1. Remove the existing connection which syncs to the wrong directory
2. Add a new connection which syncs to the desired directory

To do so, in the client UI, which you can see above, click the “Account” drop-down menu and then click “Remove”. This will display a “Confirm Account Removal” dialog window.

3. If you’re sure, click “Remove connection”.

4. Then, click the Account drop-down menu again, and this time click “Add new”.

This opens the Nextcloud Connection Wizard, which you can see above, but with an extra option. This option provides the ability to either: keep the existing data (synced by the previous connection) or to start a clean sync (erasing the existing data).

According to the Media Research Center, the media is skewing favorable coverage to Harris by a huge amount. This isn't necessarily a new thing. The corporate media sector has always slanted so far to the left that it's fallen over. However, the lengths they're going to do it is pretty incredible:

Not only has Harris received 66% more airtime than former President Donald Trump, but the spin of Harris’s coverage has been more positive (84%) than any other major party nominee, even as Trump’s coverage has been nearly entirely hostile (89% negative). //

As always, our calculation of spin omits so-called “horse race” assessments (see methodology statement below), but a separate count shows those statements have also favored Harris by a whopping margin (94% positive, vs. just 43% positive for Trump). At the same time, the network coverage has virtually eliminated any discussion of the strident left-wing positions Harris took as Senator or during her 2020 presidential campaign. And while Republican Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance and his Democratic counterpart, Tim Walz, have received nearly equal amounts of airtime, the networks have celebrated Walz (62% positive press) and punished Vance (92% negative). //

To give you an idea of how in the pocket they are for Harris, the fact that she hasn't even talked to them has only received 57 seconds of air time over the past four weeks.

I will say that Clear Choice — this PAC, this DNC-aligned PAC — that was created specifically to take us out has spent millions of dollars to take us out. They have, unfortunately, turned us into a spoiler. And we don't want to be a spoiler. We wanted to win. We wanted a fair shot. The DNC made that impossible for us. They have banned us, shadowbanned us, kept us off stages, manipulated polls, used lawfare against us, sued us in every possible state. They've even planted insiders into our campaign to disrupt it and to create actual legal issues for us. And I mean, the extent by which the sabotage they've unleashed upon us, it's mindblowing. I mean, we're still learning new ways that they have sabotaged us.

It is exclusively because of the Democratic Party taking us out. And I am so disappointed I ever helped them. //

And, you know, given this, I think we are taking a very serious look at making sure that the people that have corrupted our fair and free democracy do not end up in office in November. It's hard — I mean, it's really hard, Tom, to say these words, because it's also acknowledging how bad things are.
