There's an old rural metaphor that applies to a lot of politicians today. The metaphor in question is that of the "Fencepost Turtle," and it involves someone walking down the road and seeing an old wooden fencepost, and on top of the fencepost, balanced uncomfortably on his plastron, is a turtle. Now you look at that turtle, and you immediately know three things about it: 1) It doesn't belong up there, 2) It didn't get up there by itself, and 3) It's only a matter of time before someone comes along and knocks it off the fencepost.
Kamala Harris is a fencepost turtle. We all know how her political career started. We all know why she was Joe Biden's 2020 VP pick.
But it's 2024 now, and the question arises: Which of Donald Trump's possible VP picks presents the greatest challenge to Kamala Harris? //
Granted, some people think Kamala Harris is doing a bang-up job, and if you were to take those people and line them up end-to-end, they'd all sleep a lot more comfortably. But those few people aside, there are a lot more who look at VP Harris and wonder just what the heck Joe Biden (or whoever actually made that decision) was thinking. //
Failing upward is never the right way to get to the top. Sometimes, though, it can get one pretty damn close, which explains Kamala Harris. But, barring some calamity, this fall, Kamala Harris's tenure on the fencepost will end.
Every nation has had to convert its currency to the U.S. dollar, making it the de facto global currency. Thanks to Joe Biden, it’s all gone. //
The petrodollar agreement with Saudi Arabia began in 1974, two years into Joe Biden’s first term as a United States senator. It ended this week, a half-century later, during Biden’s first term as U.S. president. //
The debacle mirrors Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal: decades of work undone and dismantled in one brief instant because of incompetence and stupidity with nothing to show for the investment, work, and toil. Gone. //
What will replace the petrodollar as a global, commodities-based currency? Likely the Chinese yuan. The Biden administration’s radical push to “go green” has only strengthened China, as my organization, Power The Future, documented in a congressional report. I testified before the House Ways and Means Committee on this very issue, but rather than discuss it, House Democrats chose to call me names. I can guarantee you Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-N.J., an 87-year-old bitter partisan who wagged his finger at me over “mean tweets” rather than discuss his trillions in spending to buy Chinese wind and solar, has no idea the petrodollar ended. I can guarantee you the useless staffers in his office have no comment on the matter. //
It is only a matter of time until America is hooked on Chinese green the way Americans are poisoned by Chinese fentanyl, and then China asks us to convert our currency to theirs for ongoing purchases. As America built the Saudi and Russian oil industries, we are now building the Chinese green industry. //
But the petrodollar is gone forever, and with it, America’s role in the world is diminished.
We are talking about a president whose entire career has been marked with foreign policy failure after foreign policy failure. His record is so awful that Robert Gates, who served under Barack Obama, once described Biden as being "wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades." Ten years have passed since that statement, and nothing has changed except the mark is up to 50 years now.
Joe Biden is the Jim Carmer of politics. If he says something, you can take it to the bank that the opposite position is the correct one. That's true even when he manages to appear to be on the right side of an issue, ...//

This is not the same country that built the Mulberry, towed it across the Channel on June 6 1944, emplaced it while under fire and maintained it as an active port until the worst Channel storm of the century damaged it 20 days later, by which time it was no longer needed. No we're not the same country just as Boeing is not the same manufacturer that produced the B17

All correct except….. it was still needed because the Cherbourg harbor was destroyed by the Germans and Antwerp hadn’t been liberated yet. So the Americans used the British Mulberry in the interim (for months).
The British Mulberry was better protected from the elements due to geography.
The Gaza Pier has no protection. We should have known better.
I expect the excuse to be used will be climate change..
The petrodollar — a deal, not a currency — was born out of the late 1970s energy crisis. The United States, having just gone off the gold standard, struck a deal with Saudi Arabia — one of the largest producers of petroleum in the world — that meant the Saudis would price their oil exclusively in United States dollars and that any surplus revenues from their sales of petroleum would be invested in U.S. Treasury bonds. This had several effects: It ensured the U.S. a supply of oil, it established the U.S. dollar as the global reserve currency, and it helped the U.S. maintain what was, by today's standards, its modest federal debt.
That agreement is now over. //
Oil being denominated in U.S. dollars alone has significance beyond the categories of oil and finance. By mandating that oil be sold in U.S. dollars (DXY), the agreement elevated the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency. This, in turn, has profoundly impacted the U.S. economy. The global demand for dollars to purchase oil has helped to keep the currency strong, making imports relatively cheap for American consumers. Additionally, the influx of foreign capital into U.S. Treasury bonds has supported low interest rates and a robust bond market. //
First, the effect on the dollar: Weakening the dollar, as this is bound to do, will have one major effect, namely, raising the price of anything imported into the United States. And from whom does the United States import the most goods, from knick-knacks to industrial electrical transformers? China. China, we may well remember, is a country that is not particularly friendly towards the United States. Second, the end of the dollar as the global reserve currency will almost certainly lower foreign investment in the U.S. Treasury bonds that are largely used to finance America's runaway spending. Interest rates, inflation, bond markets, and the public debt are all in for a sudden, dramatic readjustment, and it won't be good for American consumers.
The ordeal was a microcosm of Joe Biden's career. For over five decades, across three major federal offices, he has managed to stake out his position as the worst foreign policy mind in history. //
All of this is completely unnecessary. Palestinians do not need a ruling "council" made up of the Palestinian Authority and others who celebrated the October 7th attacks. The Gaza Strip has forfeited its right to self-governance for the time being. Did the United States quickly usher the Taliban back into leadership roles after just eight months of war in Afghanistan? That would have been ludicrous, and this plan for Gaza is just as much so.
What needs to happen is exactly what already happens in the West Bank. Israeli forces need to maintain a presence to ensure security. The Arab nations will cry like they always do, and radicals in America will proclaim it an "occupation." So what? They were calling Gaza "occupied" prior to October 7th despite Israel not having a presence there in nearly two decades.
The only thing that should matter is a workable security plan that ensures Hamas or any similar groups never retake control.
How do we know that Biden's forces would shrug off his orders and refuse to act out his will? Because it already did happen in Texas. Texas was ordered by the Supreme Court to do as Biden says and take down the measures they set up to stop illegal immigration into the country, to which the Texas National Guard indicated they were in a "Come and take it" kind of mood and Biden's Border Patrol union refused to take things further knowing that it would escalate things to a very dangerous point.
As I said then, if Biden can't even count on his own border patrol to act against open defiance from a state's national guard, what chance does he have of having a military that would obey his command to assault their fellow Americans? Sure, there'd probably be a couple of thousand willing to get bloody, but even they would lose their taste for it once they found out how overwhelmingly outnumbered and unpopular they were.
Biden wouldn't have any F-15s because he'd likely have no one to fly them. //

Can you just imagine if Trump said something like that?
Headline news on every alphabet network, 24/7 none stop.
Problem is nobody besides the most die in the wool of us has an idea in hell that the puppet said this.
What gets me more nervous is the closer the election gets the more desperate the rats seem to get.
I would put nothing past the rat bastards, even starting a civil war. The right would be blamed. Every killing they would show on the news would be the fault of the right. No matter what.
At that point I think these wise words come into play. Then all hell breaks loose.
“The most terrifying force of death comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. The moment the Men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these Men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people’s door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy… but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the Men who just wanted to be left alone.”

The Viet Cong had no F-14s. The Taliban didn't even have biplanes. It is just very difficult to beat committed, sneaky people in their own country.
Kristi Hamrick, vice president of Media and Policy for Students for Life of America, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the government is “not prosecuting the crime, they’re just prosecuting the point of view.”
The message is clear: If you are against abortion, then the government is against you – at least under the Biden administration.
The trip to Normandy became a multi-day function for the Biden administration after the awkward mess of yesterday’s D-Day honoring ceremony, as Matt Margolis reported here on P.J. Media. At the last minute, Biden reportedly changed his plans to visit the American cemetery in Brittany for a photo opportunity, which wouldn’t ordinarily cause much of a stir. In this instance, he displaced thousands of young Americans who were supposed to play at a parade scheduled long before Biden’s visit. The event was canceled to accommodate President Biden.
More than 2,000 musicians, mostly comprised of school-aged children, from around the U.S. and Australia made a trip to Normandy that spanned more than four days and five historical sites to honor the historic D-Day in what would have been an unparalleled educational experience in a wreath-laying ceremony and parade. Families paid their own way to Europe to watch their children perform for the fallen heroes at the cemetery, only to learn they wouldn’t be allowed access once Joe Biden decided to travel to Brittany. //
For an administration with a reputation for putting its own personal gains ahead of its constituents, Biden storming the Normandy American Cemetery is another in a long line of blunders that turned an attempt at PR into a sad moment for his people. As of this writing, the Biden administration has not apologized to the performers or the veterans in attendance.

If you take what Biden said at face value, it would be bad, but if you look at this objectively, it's much worse.
I don't think anyone, including Putin, thinks Biden is making these decisions. He is a puppet of the Neocon Hawks in the Deep State (both Republican and Democrat) who want to keep pushing Russia. Some people call it the Blob.
That means the people calling the shots collectively (there probably is no one decision-maker) are inaccessible to their Russian counterparts. So we are dancing on the edge of war, and there is no means for diplomatic dialog.
If things deteriorate, we could find ourselves in a situation like the Cuban Missile Crisis, except with no way for Kennedy and Kruschev to talk.

While the Biden administration is attempting to look like it’s getting tough on the border, behind the scenes it’s operating a program of a “mass amnesty” for migrants, The Post can reveal.
Data shows that since 2022, more than 350,000 asylum cases filed by migrants have been closed by the US government if the applicants don’t have a criminal record or are otherwise not deemed a threat to the country.
This means that while the migrants are not granted or denied asylum — their cases are “terminated without a decision on the merits of their asylum claim” — they are removed from the legal system and no longer required to check in with authorities.
The move allows them to legally, indefinitely roam about the US without fear of deportation, effectively letting them slip through the cracks. //

COMPLETELY UNHINGED: As Biden tries to JAIL his leading opponent, junior Biden campaign spokesman Michael Tyler says President Trump is a "threat" that Biden will "end ... once and for all."
4:34 PM · Jun 2, 2024
This is not a normal election. Donald Trump has already demonstrated that he is not a normal candidate. He is a fundamental, persistent, and growing threat to our democracy. And Joe Biden is running to make sure we end that threat, once and for all. //
This, as Democrats are also trying to end Trump's Secret Service protection. //
Trump isn't a threat to "democracy," he's a threat to their power. That's the real problem here and the "threat" is growing because he keeps beating Biden in the polls. The lawfare appears to have backfired so far. //

When a democrat says rule of law and they see themselves as the law, it’s really their rule as everyone else has already stated.
Romney issued a statement on Saturday morning in which he said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg committed "political malpractice" in his pursuance of former President Donald Trump:
Bragg should have settled the case against Trump, as would have been the normal procedure. But he made a political decision. Bragg may have won the battle, for now, but he may have lost the political war. //
You may disagree with this, but had I been President Biden, when the Justice Department brought on indictments, I would have immediately pardoned him.
I'd have pardoned President Trump. Why? Well, because it makes me, 'President Biden,' the big guy and the person I pardoned a little guy. //

Totally agree on the significance but I think Romney is "right" for the wrong reasons, which is not surprising.
He didn't say the conviction was wrong or unjust, which is the correct answer.
He said it was malpractice and he bemoans winning the battle and losing the war.
He said how Biden could be the Big Guy (lol) and Trump the little guy with a pardon.
All Romney is mad about here is that the Dems have made Trump stronger in November, IMO.
He has no moral qualms with the demonizing of Trump, just the means that achieve that end.
So pigs aren't flying, Romney didn't suddenly get a clue. He's just mad that his nemesis Trump is getting an advantage from this "political malpractice". //

I obviously disagree with this verdict as do many others. I believe that the case will be reversed eventually either in the state or federal systems. However, this was the worst expectation for a trial in Manhattan. I am saddened by the result more for the New York legal system than the former president. I had hoped that the jurors might redeem the integrity of a system that has been used for political purposes.
9:20 PM · May 30, 2024
I am sad for him and his family, but this goes far beyond Trump. I think I am mourning what it means for our legal system and our rule of law when you can do this to a political opponent and a former president. It means none of us is safe, that that great principle which has made us special as a nation—equality under the law—died more than a little on Thursday. And that's a horrible thing to ponder.
Democrats have sacrificed it all on the altar of power and holding onto control.
Yes, there are a bunch of potential appealable issues, and it may very well be overturned on appeal. And sentence is likely to be stayed pending appeal. But in the meantime, the Democrats have what they wanted: the ability to call Trump a "convicted felon" and the hope that in a close race, this will hurt Trump and hand the race to Biden. The case may be overturned in the future, and some may say then, "Oh, so sorry." But it will be too late for justice and too late for the Republic. And nothing will be the same again.
Democratic National Committee rules and state laws create a simple path to oust Biden before, during, and after the convention.

Top Biden Donor Revealed to Be Pakistani Government Official - What Did He Get in Return? – RedState
Ever heard of Tahir Javed?
Nor had I, but it turns out he was one of President Biden's biggest donors in the 2020 election - and he's also now a Pakistani government official. Front Page's Daniel Greenfield has the details: //
four of whom were recognized along with myself… to have raised over $100,000 personally.” These donors would have likely come through Javed’s roles in various Islamic and Pakistani groups operating inside America. //
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who called Osama bin Laden a “martyr”, declared, “Tahir Javed has been instrumental in setting up a Pakistan Congress Foundation that has played a key role in revival and activation of Congressional Pakistan Caucus at the 116th Congress”. //

Sleeping With the Enemy: Biden Warns European Allies Not to Rebuke Iran's Nuclear Program – RedState
the Wall Street Journal reports in an exclusive:
Joe Biden is opposing a European plan to rebuke Iran for advances in its nuclear programme as Washington wants to avoid an escalation of tensions ahead of the US presidential election, diplomats involved in discussions have claimed.
The Biden administration is said to be arguing against an effort by Britain and France to censure Iran at the International Atomic Energy Agency's member state board in early June, they added. While US officials deny lobbying against a resolution, the diplomats say the administration is pressing other countries to abstain in a censure vote, which is what Washington will do. //
The differences are emerging as Western officials’ concerns have deepened about Iran’s nuclear activities.
On Monday, the U.N. atomic-energy agency reported that Iran’s stockpile of 60% highly enriched uranium rose 20.6 kilograms to 142.1 kg as of May 11 from three months earlier, its highest level to date.
U.S. officials say that material could be converted into weapons-grade enriched uranium in a matter of days. It would then be enough to fuel three nuclear weapons….
European diplomats have warned that failure to take action would undermine the authority of the IAEA, which polices nonproliferation of nuclear weapons. They say it also weakens the credibility of Western pressure on Iran. And they are frustrated over what they see as U.S. efforts to undermine their approach.

Vote like your life depends on it for Trump in November.
Dems are 1 or 2 moves from checkmate.
1) Vote to end the filibuster
2) Pack the Supreme Court and unleash every unconstitutional idea they have, including legalizing 30m migrants who could then turn Texas and or Florida blue.
We would still have elections to keep up appearances, but it would be like CA now where you just find out which Democrat won.
If it were not for illegals given Amnesty by Reagan, CA might still be a red state. It's only gotten worse since. We cannot risk repeating that mistake.
Illegals pad their House seats and EC votes. And that's just CA. How many states are blue now just because of the impact of illegals?
Raskin and Sheldon are telling you this is what they want to do. Believe them.
Vote Trump. He's the only one besides the Dem nominee who could win.
Anyone who stays home or votes 3rd party better feel super confident that the rest of us are gonna save the country for you.
Saying you hate both candidates is childish. One of them is going to win.
Biden (or any Democrat) WILL support finishing what Joe Biden and Obama started.
Trump will fight to restore the republic. You may not like him or believe he can succeeed, but you best believe a fresh Democrat administration would believe they have a mandate to tell us all to sit down and shut up.
They've worked 100+ years to get here. This may be our last peaceful chance to reverse course.
I hope I'm wrong. But do you want to bet on it?
Lo and behold, after apparently considering the consequences of losing the lawsuit and setting a precedent, Biden administration officials granted a permit to allow the mass to take place on the cemetery grounds: //
Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares summed up the case, perfectly:
I’m pleased that the Petersburg Knights of Columbus was granted access to observe Memorial Day and gather to pray and mourn the loss of fallen military personnel. The First Amendment very clearly allows religious and non-religious groups to hold these types of gatherings on government grounds. It’s shameful and un-American that they were denied in the first place.
